Inspiring plants, made easy.

Dave Van BelleWhen I walk our nursery, I’m always amazed at the many steps, factors and variables behind each inspiring plant that leaves our shipping dock. Every plant has its own recipe for success. It’s a blend of the right potting media, timing and method of propagation, the pruning and nourishment schedule, light and moisture needs, access to the best breeding programs, and even the licensing and governmental requirements. And these are only some of the factors we can control – never mind the ones we can’t, like the weather!

But we take great pride in taking care of this complexity for you, our partners. We understand that you have many details and complexities of your own to manage, and we think at least one part of your business process should be easy and hassle-free.

Beyond our goal of making it as easy for you as possible, we’re also proud to provide you access to leading edge flowering shrubs from the top breeding programs around the world. These superior plants have the attributes your customers are looking for, and we offer you the best from programs such as our new brand, Bloomin’ Easy™, as well as top brands Proven Winners® ColorChoice®, Ball Ornamentals®, and First Editions®. We invite you to check these out, along with all of the inspiring varieties displayed here on our website. We look forward to partnering with you!

Our Customers Say:

  • Exceptional value. Prior to using Van Belle, I had been buying smaller liners (2.5in) of a lesser quality and paying nearly the same price and often times more.  Even with the long haul back to the Midwest, they have proven to be a value.  In most cases, Van Belle’s  4in is my first choice.

    Paul VanOteghem, Home Nursery

  • The 4in program is a success for us. Our goal is to finish a three gallon container in one growing season. Some of the liners we purchased from you in April have already been sold (huge success); the others are available for sale and should be sold by the end of next spring (success). Anything longer than 12 months causes me concern.

    David Johnson, Johnson Nursery Corp.

  • I find the 4in pots work well in our production scheme due to the savings in freight and the cost of the original liner.  The 4in pot is rooted and heavy  and we can produce it 3 gallon container plant in 6 months on average. It has also allowed us to produce 2 gallon containers effectively and depending on the variety we can finish it off in 3 months.

    Jerry Fulz, Acorn Farms

  • With the high cost of liners it is critical for us to shorten the residency time of our plants at our nursery.  When we can purchase a 4in liner from Van Belle, containerize it into a 3 gallon and sell it within 12 months that allows us to maintain a strong profit margin.

    Mark Sellew, Prides Corner Farms
