We have a full time permanent opening for a Mechanic. This role is responsible to maintain and repair all nursery vehicles, tractors, skid steers, forklifts and small equipment. Assist in greenhouse repairs as needed.
Basic qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license required. Clean driving record.
- HD Mechanic/Automotive Mechanic or millwright Red Seal ticket.
- Small engine experience an asset.
- Skills in welding, fabrication and/or equipment operation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to be organized and work with interruptions.
- Hard working self starter who can work alone or as a part of a team.
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn and climb.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry 50-70 lbs
Job Responsibilities
- Maintaining and repairing all nursery vehicles (Vans, Tractor, etc..) and small equipment (small generators, trimmers, etc…) according to recommended maintenance schedules.
- Ensuring the maintenance shop is clean, safe and organized.
- Performing monthly inspections of all vehicles and equipment.
- Maintaining service records of equipment.
- Emergency On Call repairs Mechanical (Electrical, Plumbing as needed)
